It is the practice of many restaurants to select House Wines as the most inexpensive wine available. At The Chinese Delight,We appreciate that the marriage of food and Wine is primarily the result of the quality of the basic ingredients.
We are, therefore, happy to introduce to you a range of Wines especially selected to complement the myriad of foods and flavours offered on our extensive menu.

In addition to this, We are pleased to offer you our house Champagne, Champagne Michel Arnould, a rich, floral and elegant champagne made from two thirds Pinot Noir and one third Chardonnay. Exquisitely balanced and delicious with good length, it is from a family estate where all the land comprises Grand Cru sites.

‘Z’, Bordeaux, Luc Thienpont 2011
A really lovely wine with rich curranty, plummy fruit and a nice bit of tannin to back it up. From their vineyard a joining the Margaux appellation.
Chateau La Tour de By, Médoe 2004
A favourite estate which always makes a very correct wine with supple blackcurrant fruit and well—balanced oak. There is a tower in the vineyards which gives wonderful views across the Gironde.
Chateau Teyssier, grand cru Saint—Emilion 2009
This is a soft, silky style ofSaint-Emilion, made by Englishman Jonathan Maltus. It has good plummy fruit, plenty of weight mid- palate and an easy-going, positive finish. It is a wine that can be drunk young.
Lacoste—Borie, Pauillac 2009
Classic, elegant Pauillac with lovely black and red fruit flavours, persistant and long, with ripe tannins and great balance. This is the second wine of Grand Puy Lacoste.
Chateau Cantemerle, 5me cru Haut-Médoc 2009
Always popular, Cantemerle is situated in the southern Médoc and makes elegant, Margaux—style wines. The 2009 is soft and elegant. with fine concentration, black and blue berry flavours, spice and dried herbs.
Chateau d’Angludet, Margaux 2007
This is the Sichelfamily’s own property with the wine made by Ben, the youngest of the brothers. It is a delightful Margaux, with pretty cassis, violet fruit and good balance, plus soft tannins and good length.
Chateau Bourgneuf, Pomerol 2009
Big and grippy with really good concentration of black fruits and ripe tannins. The fruit is soft and juicy.
Chateau Léoville Barton, Zme cru Saint-Julien 2006
This has lovely powerful fruit with excellent concentration and ripe red and blackfruits. As usual it is a very classy and very typical claret.

Pouilly—Fuissé, Cuvée vieilles vignes, N et M Guerrin 2011Grapes from low yielding, 45 year-old vines make a beautifully intense yet elegant Pouilly-Fuisse’, the top wine from grower Maurice Guerrin. He ferments it in barrel, working the lees to give roundness and a yeasty. dry finish. £32.95
Chorey-iés-Beaune vieilles vignes. Maison Roche de Beilene 2010Full of nice, chunky black fruits as well as red. Rich and spicy with very subtle oak notes as Nicolas used large 600 litre casks so as to moderate the oak’s influence on the wine. £34.95

Full flavoured with crisp acidity and a stoney. dry finish.

Puligny—Montrachet, Bachelet—Monnot 2010

Lovely classic oak notes on the nose lead to a supple, fruity palate and on to an elegant, rich finish. Grapes from different plots are blended toproduce a wine with optimum freshness, richness and length.


Gevrey-Chambertin, Chanson 2010

Full and aristocratic with raspberryfruit and a certain smokiness, this example ofone ofBurgundy’s mostfamous red wines comes from the Beaune—based house ofChanson Pere et Fils, now owned by Champagne Bollinger.

Very ripe, supple and long with red and blackfruits and hints ofspice, this is a typicalBeaune 1er cruflomone ofthe best vineyards. Made in deep, cool cellars in Meursault which preserve those crystalline
fruit flavours.


Nuits—Saint-Georges 1er eru Clos des Porrets St Georges, Henri Gouges 2008

Wonderful blackfruit character with hints of cassis and plums. The palate is full of dark fruits too, but is surprisingly silky. It has good structure and the finish is long and ripe.


Vosne—Romanée 1er cru Aux Brulées, Domaine d’Eugènie 2006

Brulées is a brilliant vineyard just next door to Richebourg and not far behind in terms of sheer power and breeding. The estate is now under the same ownership as Chateau Latour but continues to make great wines.

Gigondas L’O1ivia, Gonnet Rhone Selection 2011Made mostlyfrom 80 year old Grenache, this wine has gorgeous spiced damsonfruit on the nose and a wonderfullyfull mouth-feel, redolent offreshly crushed blackberries, with velvety smooth tannins. £39.00

Rosé d’Anjou, ia Roulerie 2012Crystal clear with a salmon pink hue and a beautiful intensity. The bouquet is reminiscent of red berries (raspberries and strawberries). The palate is expressive, rich and aromatic with a hint of liquorice and toflee. The clear: fresh and tasty finish is balanced by a fine acidity. £18.95

Powerful, fabulously rich Gewiirztraminer from vineyards in the grand cru Eichberg, boasting excellent weight and character Has lots offiruit, but also elegance and wonderful complexity. Late harvested, with good acidity.


Rioja Vega Crianza, Rioja 2010The winery at Rioja Vega was overhauled in 2001 and their wines have surged forward. From Tempranillo with a little Mazaelo and Garnacha, this smooth, soft, richly-fraited red has spice and vanilla from 12 months in American oak. £19.95
